Q: What cloud service is used?

A: Alibaba Cloud / Microsoft Azure.

Q: What large language model is used?

A: ChatGPT / Microsoft Azure OpenAI.

Q: How many languages are supported for transcription?

A: 118 languages.

Q: Does transcription run on the device, or on your server? If on your server, what is the cost per minute and is there a free tier?

A: Transcription runs on the server. It is free for the first year. From the second year onward, 300 minutes per month are included free of charge, and usage beyond the quota requires a subscription.

Q: What if your service shuts down - does the card become a brick?

A: No. The card can still be used for offline recording.

Connectivity & Transfer

Q: Does the BLE protocol support file listing?

A: Yes.

Q: Does the BLE protocol support audio file download?

A: Yes.

Q: Can the app control the device to start/stop recording?

A: Yes.

Q: What is the actual BLE transfer speed in KB/s or MB/min?

A: Android phone: 80-90 KB/s; iOS phone: 85 KB/s; Bluetooth transfer: 67-82 KB/s; Wi-Fi transfer: 800-1000 KB/s.

Q: Can the app resume an interrupted file transfer?

A: Yes.

SDK & Integration

Q: Do you support an open API and iOS/Android SDK for third parties?

A: Yes.

Q: Is a firmware SDK available?

A: No.

Q: Can we use the SDK in our own commercial app?

A: Yes.

Q: Can a third-party/custom app connect directly to the recorder?

A: No. Only a compatible dedicated app can connect to the device.

Q: Can the device work fully without your cloud and use only our backend?

A: Yes.

Q: Can we disable your app/cloud and use only our backend?

A: Yes.

Q: Is it possible to have white-label firmware built to our specifications?

A: Yes.

Files & Storage

Q: What file formats can be downloaded: WAV, OPUS, MP3, M4A?

A: DOS/GB2312 model: MP3 (RIFF); A7 series: WAV, OPUS; other series: OPUS.

Q: What is the average file size for 1 hour of recording?

A: Approximately 14 MB for MP3, 100 MB for WAV, and 14 MB for OPUS.

Q: Can recordings be deleted from the device after download?

A: Yes.

Q: Are local recording and call recording automatically distinguished?

A: DOS model: distinguished by file attribute; other models: automatically distinguished by algorithm.

Security & Compliance

Q: Is the product GDPR compliant?

A: Yes.

Q: Are customers allowed to control firmware signing and secure boot?

A: No.

Q: Are customers allowed to use OTA updates and encrypt recording data? Who holds the OTA signing key?

A: The OTA upgrade permission for the customer's own app is controlled by the customer.
